Rev. Craig Sweeney-Essex - Minister

Craig became the minister at Central Baptist Church in September 2017 having previously been a visiting preacher with us. He was born and bred in Leicester and has lived here all of his life. He has led in many areas of ministry including a missional football project, youth ministry, men’s ministry, and house groups before studying at Moorlands College. He is also Chaplain and Board Member of The Centre Project, Leicester.

As minister, he is responsible for leading us, particularly in our 4 key values of fellowship, mission, discipleship, and worship. This involves helping people to grow in and deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ and enabling them to find their place of service in the body of Christ.

Craig is married to Laura and has two children. He enjoys food, weight training and walking his dog.
